Welcome to SassyPots.com! I have always had a passion for growing any and everything green. Whether it’s fruits, vegetables, herbs, or anything in between. The best part is knowing that you’ve created fresh and healthy organically grown food for yourself and your family without any unknown or potentially toxic chemicals. Somehow, home grown just always tastes better.
The Joy of Indoor Organic Gardening
I’ve learned a lot over the years about organic gardening outdoors as well as container gardening, but now I’ve been shifting my focus toward indoor organic gardening, using self-contained grow rooms and LED lighting to maximize the amount of food you can grow per square foot within the comfort, warmth, and security of your own home.
It’s a little tricky getting an indoor garden set up, but once you are up and running, you can enjoy your passion for gardening year-round in spite of the harsh winters and unexpected weather changes. Indoor organic gardening has an added benefit of allowing you to grow pest-free plants which thrive within a controlled-climate environment. You can even branch out to include hydroponics as your gardening matrix, which is a unique way to grow your favorite plants without soil.
Stay Inspired All Year Long and Save Money, Too!
I’ll include step by step instructions on how to get your grow room up and running, and how to maximize your yields. We’ll also talk about common problems encountered with indoor growing and suggestions on how to overcome some of these challenges. If you’re addicted to gardening like I am, and don’t want to feel the disappointment when that first early frost wipes out your carefully cultivated buddies, then you’ll love finding some joy during those long, dark winter days when fresh produce and bright sunshine is scarce.
I find indoor gardening to be very therapeutic during the winter months, and it keeps me motivated to keep trying new varieties of my favorite plants. It’s also a great way to save money by starting your own seedlings in the spring for outdoor planting, rather than paying a hefty sum at a local nursery or big box store for your small outdoor plants.
Why not plant several extras of each and make a little extra money selling young plants at a garage sale in the spring? There are plenty of dwarf and small varieties of almost every plant that can be grown inside given the correct growing environment.
The Magic of Automation
Once we get our plants sprouted and thriving, we’ll also look into automating our growing system so that you can actually take that long awaited vacation to a warm, sunny place while it’s snowing or raining outside without having to worry about whether your newly sprouted buddies are getting enough water and sunlight. We can automate everything that you’ll need to keep your little guys alive and thriving while you’re at work for the day or even if you’re gone for the whole week. The fun part is you can even check in on your little buddies right from your smart phone, so you can make adjustments to your grow room schedule when ever needed. You can even refer back to a digital history of your system adjustments and tweaks that you made along the way to monitor your customized grow system.
If you have any questions, or would like to explore possible tweaks to your grow system, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
Susan N
